[Chain News] PANews, June 15 - Recently, Amazon signed a protocol with power infrastructure and supplier Talen Energy to use 1,920 megawatts (MW) of nuclear power to supply electricity to Amazon's servers and AI data centers in Pennsylvania, effective until 2042.

According to the Talen announcement, this energy will be produced at the company's Susquehanna nuclear power station and will provide power to Amazon facilities in the region, while also planning to explore small modular reactor ( SMR ) technology. The energy will be supplied through the grid, rather than directly from the power station as initially planned. This arrangement will support the maintenance of the grid through service fees paid by Amazon.
