On June 11, it was reported that India's Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Rahul Arora in New Delhi and seized $327,000 (about 280 million rupees) worth of cryptocurrencies and $26,400 in cash during raids in three places across the country. The investigation revealed that the gang used social work skills and technical camouflage methods to impersonate government officials to defraud victims in the United States and Canada. The CBI said the operation was part of the Chakra-V multi-agency anti-cybercrime program, which was carried out in conjunction with international organizations such as the FBI and Interpol. Analysts pointed out that although the case involved crypto assets, it should not be misconstrued as a "cryptocurrency scam".
